A Handy Guide to Parking in Ravensworth

Map showing Bay Horse area with numbered plots and nearby roads.

When you arrive in Ravensworth, you’ll notice that much of the village is surrounded by a public village green.

To help preserve the peaceful surroundings, we kindly ask that you park considerately and with respect for the green and our neighbours.

The areas numbered 1–5 on the map are our recommended places to park:

1. Outside The Bay Horse

There is space for around 4–5 cars in the slightly gravelled lay-by just outside the pub.

2. Alongside the green

Another slightly gravelled area. Please park straight rather than across the space, allowing as many cars as possible to fit. It is fine to position your front or rear wheels slightly onto the green. Please avoid parking on the green toward the side where residents live.

3. Towards the Village Hall & School

If areas 1 and 2 are full, continue a little further towards the Village Hall and School, where there is another gravelled area suitable for parking.

4. Mill Close

Mill Close is a normal cul-de-sac with no permit restrictions or yellow lines (regardless of a historic sign placed there). You are welcome to park here, but please avoid double parking, blocking driveways or restricting access for residents.

5. Alongside the road

If the other areas are full, you can park parallel to the road alongside the green. Please tuck your vehicle in carefully, with approximately half of the car on the green where appropriate. This helps leave enough room for tractors and larger vehicles to safely enter and leave the village.

The parking information above is provided as guidance only to help visitors identify suitable places to park within the village. The Bay Horse does not own, manage or control any of the land or roads shown as suggested parking areas.

All vehicles are parked entirely at the owner’s own risk. The Bay Horse accepts no responsibility for any loss, theft, damage, accident, obstruction, parking dispute or other issue arising from where or how a vehicle is parked.
